'Koyamandi nishiki' is the "snowflake maple" and it is a standout because of a very unusual Japanese maple leaf shape. The overall soft-looking appearance is due to the rounded but serrated shape of the leaf lobes. From a distance, an individual leaf takes on the look of a snowflake.
This tree has green leaves much of the growing season, and bright yellow and orange leaves in fall. Growing to about 10' tall and wide in ten years, with a semi-pendulous habit.
