Shipping Info

Time-sensitivity for shipping live plants, and the larger boxes required, makes shipping Japanese maples unlike other online purchases. We suggest you review the following information:

Sales and shipping are available to customers with a Canadian shipping address (No P.O. Boxes). 1, 2 & 3 GALLON SIZES ARE THE ONLY SIZES  AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING. 3 GALLON ONLY IN BC. Larger container sizes are available for local, by-appointment purchase.

We ship Canada-wide, using Canada Post Xpresspost. Shipping time is 2-3 days for BC, and the Prairie Provinces. 3-4 days for Ontario and locations east of there. 

THE BEST VALUE IS FOUND WHEN MAXIMIZING THE AMOUNT OF TREES THAT FIT INTO EACH BOX SIZE. For 3 gallon trees, typically we only put one tree in a box. For 1 & 2 gallon trees, we have provided estimated shipping rates and approximate quantities of trees that fit into each side box. When your cart exceeds the maximum permitted in a certain sized box then the shipping is calculated up to the next size, or some cases, calculates an additional package to accomodate the quantity of trees ordered. Occasionally, trees may not fit into the package and have to be upsized to the next larger box. And sometimes, we can fit more trees than normal into a smaller package. We will inform you of this before completing your order. This may result in increased or decreased charges depending on the situation.

This not a perfect science, but we are constantly striving to safely fit as many trees as we can into the smallest package size possible. (Chart updated Sept. 2024)

Some notes on the above chart:

Small boxes ONLY fit 1 gallon containers. Also, the small, medium and large boxes all have a shipping cost that is relative to that size (+/- a few dollars). SO, REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS IN THE BOX, A SMALL BOX WILL HAVE A DEDICATED COST ASSOCIATED WITH THAT SIZE, AS WILL A MEDIUM, AND A LARGE. Due to the various container size combinations possible we can't possibly list them all but here are some combinations possible:

Medium Box:

1x 2 gallon AND 2x 1 gallons

1x 2 gallon AND 1x 1 gallon (large tree)

2x 2 gallons (small trees) 

Large Box:

1x 2 gallon AND 2x 1 gallons

2x 2 gallons AND 1x 1 gallon 

2x 2 gallons AND 3x 1 gallons (smaller trees)

3 gallon containers are usually shipped by themselves. Shippable in BC ONLY. Assume the shipping cost to be similar to a large.

Finally, orders usually go out Mondays and normally you will receive your trees the same week. Delays are possible if extreme weather expected.
