Like many Japanese maples, this attractive cultivar is known by other names as well. 'Eagle's Tail', 'Eagle's Claw' and 'Palmatifidium' are three of the most common. Acer palmatum dissectum 'Washi-no-o' has green leaves emerging in the spring which eventually give way to a lighter green. Fall colours are yellow and often with orange tones.
The leaf habit is an attractive one on 'Washi-no-o'. Unlike other dissectums, the leaves are more erect and almost held more horizontally. Growing wider than tall, the height will often be about 6' tall.
