In Japanese, Koto-no-ito means, "Harp strings". Leafing out as a bright green or chartreuse green, and in autumn leaves become oranges and reds. A beautiful, upright specimen that grow to about 6-8' in ten years and eventually reach about 10' tall and wide.
'Koto-no-ito' typically will have a mixture of leaves with wider leaf lobes and leaves with thinner leaf lobes, but this effect really helps to create an airy, tropical feel.
