An absolute stunner, 'Butterfly' is one of the handful of variegated leaf Japanese maples that can handle full sun. This slow-growing, vase-shaped tree has small, interesting leaves which start off in spring as a green with pink margins later changing to green with white/cream margins. In fall, the margins turn a magenta colour. Any leaves that revert to green should be removed.
Acer palmatum 'Butterfly' grows to approximately 12' tall and 4-6' wide. It is a great candidate for container or landscape use. Either way, it is a beautiful tree that needs a place in your garden.
