A beautiful, upright and spreading matsumurae-leaf tree, 'Burgundy Lace' has very attractive leaves and a red-burgundy colour. A little similar to 'Sherwood Flame'. And despite the name, the lace does not indicate a lace leaf weeping tree but it does give a clue as to the finer shape of the leaves. The spring red-burgundy colour of the leaves will change as the summer progresses becoming more bronzed or green.
Acer palmatum 'Burgundy Lace' is a medium to large grower and in time can be about 20' tall and wide.
