Wow! We Have Some Amazing Trees Coming!

So, it's winter and I've been doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff. Mainly administrative, including cataloguing the new trees that I expect to have this year available for you Japanese maple lovers out there. I have to say, it's pretty exciting!

Ok, no, no, no the administrative stuff is ABSOLUTELY NOT EXCITING, it's the thought of the trees I expect to be able to offer for sale that is exciting. While I continue to work hard at learning the tricky art of Japanese maple tree grafting, I continue to source most of our trees from suppliers. This past summer marked the first in-house grafted trees that were available for sale, but for the most part we're just not there yet with the volume and so we are leaning heavily on suppliers.

The plus side of this is that every year is a little different. Some of the trees we saw in the first season we won't see. On the other hand, some trees we couldn't secure in the first or second season we now expect to receive. And in some cases, some trees are returning after an absence of a year. It's a bit like a lottery in a way in terms of what's available each year. The reality is, in the nursery business there are no sure bets. So, you have to take the blessings where you can get them.

But back to the excitement, here's a short list of some of the absolutely incredible trees we have on order:

'Ikandi', 'Seiun kaku', 'Jubilee', 'Lileeanne's Jewel', 'Shidava Gold', 'Bronze Age', 'Pink Filigree', 'Bihou', 'Baldsmith', 'Geisha Gone Wild', 'Irish Lace', 'Sensu', 'Phantom Flame', 'Taiyo nishiki', 'Ryusen', 'Shirazz', 'Sawa chidori', 'Red Pygmy', 'Tsuma gaki' several of the ghost series and many, many more.

When our trees come in, I will do my best to highlight them on video in order to help you make your shopping choices. Before then, once I can confirm everything that is received from our suppliers, I can make everything available on our website inventory but trust me, there's going to be well over 100 new additions to the inventory so it won't be easy to decide! That's a good thing. Last season we were plagued with some issues and selection was limited.  Late March or early April the website will be updated, but I will give notice leading up to this.

Thanks for tuning in.

Chris
