A medium-sized tree, Acer palmatum 'Sherwood Flame' has very deeply divided matsumurae leaves with a lovely reddish-purple colour. It grows to about 16' tall and about 13' wide and has a round-topped shape. The leaf colour seems to hold well through the summer months.
