'Sagara nishiki' is unique in that it has yellow and green variegation. Yellow is definitely not as prominent in the the range of Japanese maple colours, and variegated yellow, less so. Like many variegated maples, the colour patterns vary from year to year. 'Sagara nishiki' can be sometimes more yellow than green but often, the leaves are green with a yellow border and a dusting of yellow spots.
This is a small to medium sized tree, growing to about 8-10' tall or so. Provide afternoon protection from the sun.
