Weeping Japanese maples are special trees. Weeping Japanese maples with palmate leaves, as opposed to dissected (lace leaf), are truly special and rare. Acer palmatum 'Ryusen' is an extreme cascading weeper with beautifully shaped leaves that emerge a chartreuse green eventually maturing to a darker shade of green. Autumn colours are oranges and reds.
As with all weeping forms, 'Ryusen' can be staked up to the desired height and allowed to cascade down from there. Or, let it trail over the ground!
