Also called, 'Ruby Stars', Acer palmatum 'Hoshi beni' is wonderful red tree with distinctive star-shaped leaves. A fairly compact tree, it may only reach 4-8' tall in ten years. In summer, the red leaves turn green and new flushes of growth are a bright red, adding further interest to this tree. Fall colours are yellows an reds.
