Awesome name, awesome tree! This fabulous laceleaf almost fits into the dwarf category due to it's slow-growth and typical size over time, which tends to be 6-8' tall and wide. This is one does well in full sun.
Named for it's purple-red colour and the likeness of the leaves to mythical dragon feet, spring leaf colour is a bright. Summer leaf colour is more dark and fall colour will brighten up again. 'Red Dragon' will not revert to green if placed in partial shade like some red-leaved trees.
This variety is a great choice for a patio plant or next to your landscaped water feature.
