2025
There are some changes in 2025 with our store. Some good, some not as good. Last fall I mentioned I'd hoped to reduce shipping costs but it's pretty tough to do. For 2025, we have built-in some discounts with the various shipping box sizes but you're never going to see "Free Shipping" around here. Shipping in Canada is expensive! EVERYTHING IN CANADA IS EXPENSIVE! So, the shipping numbers don't change a lot unfortunately.
We have changed some of our package sizes. Part of this is because of box supplier availability, and part because of ease of packaging the trees. It's a balancing act between finding the right package sizes and the cost to ship them. HOWEVER, it will never be a problem for us if you contact us to ask about certain trees you want to purchase and how many can fit into the package. We'll always try to work with you for the best value. NO, we aren't going to be debating shipping costs, but when we can get more trees in the package, we certainly will. Or if we can reduce a package size because the tree is a little smaller, we will.
Some of the good news includes the 50 new Japanese maple varieties coming that we've never had before so that is super exciting. And of course, many returning varieties you already love. And we also have several new conifers that are new to us. Expect to see the inventory updated first week of April.
We have two new tree size categories added this year. 1 gallon XL and 2 gallon XL. Basically, these are trees that are larger than how they originally arrived. So, a 1 gallon XL is taller and probably a bigger trunk girth than the 1 gallon. Same for the 2 XL. Our 2 gallon XL are absolutely monstrous at about 5-6' tall. Those are only available in BC however, due to the cost of shipping outside the province. In BC they ship for about $45.
